1. Scope and Acceptance of Terms

These Event Participation Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern participation in Ophthalmology24 Bootcamp 2026 (“the Event”) and related educational events, workshops, wetlabs, training sessions, conferences, and activities organized by Ophthalmology 24 OOD ("Ophthalmology24", "The Organizer", "we", "our", or "us").

By registering for, attending, or participating in the event as an Attendee, you agree and are legally bound to these Terms.

2. Event Description

The Event is a hands-on ophthalmology training program focused exclusively on:

  • Wetlab training

  • Drylab training

  • Surgical simulation

Key conditions:

  • No lectures or theoretical sessions will be held

  • No live patients are involved

  • No clinical procedures or treatments are performed

  • No working with animal tissue (e.g., porcine eyes)

  • Training involves simulators, training microscopes, and artificial models

3. Eligibility & Professional Responsibility

Ophthalmology24 Bootcamp is intended for healthcare professionals, medical students, ophthalmology trainees, ophthalmologists, industry representatives, and other approved participants.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that attendance and participation comply with their local laws, institutional policies, employer requirements, licensing obligations, and professional regulations.

Certain workshops, wetlabs, or hands-on sessions may have limited capacity, prerequisite experience requirements, or eligibility restrictions.

4. Registration and Participation

Registration must be completed via the official website:

​Participation is confirmed only after:

  • Full payment is received, and

  • Written confirmation via email is issued.

Participants are responsible for providing accurate registration information.

The Organizer reserves the right to decline or cancel registrations, limit participant numbers, modify ticket categories, refuse registration for safety or organizational reasons, correct pricing or administrative errors.

5. Fees and Payment

Admission fee for Attendees is 1000 EUR. All fees are in EUR (€) and are subject to VAT. Full payment is required to secure participation. The payment processor for the event is Revolut. We also accept bank wire payments.

 

Access to the Event is granted only after full payment is received.

6. Cancellation and Ticket Transfer

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to:

Refund policy:

  • Up to 60 days before the Event → 50% refund

  • Less than 60 days before the Event → no refund

However:

  • Attendees may transfer their ticket to another eligible participant at no additional cost

  • The Organizer must be informed in advance of any transfer

7. No Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive:

  • The standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply, as the Event is a leisure service linked to a specific date.

8. Program and Schedule Changes

The Organizer reserves the right to modify the event program, schedule, venue or training sessions, or to change instructors, mentors, equipment, session formats or lab structure.

 

The modifications can be done at any time when reasonably necessary.

 

These changes do not entitle Attendees to a refund.

9. Hands-On Training, Wetlabs & Educational Activities

Participation in practical sessions, wetlabs, simulation training, surgical exercises, educational competitions, device demonstrations, and other hands-on educational activities is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own responsibility.

Participants acknowledge and agree that:

  • Educational activities may involve the use of medical instruments, surgical devices, lasers, microscopes, simulation equipment, sharp instruments, wetlab materials, electrical equipment, animal tissue models, artificial models, or other technical training systems

  • All practical activities are provided solely for educational and training purposes

  • Participation does not constitute medical certification, licensing, credentialing, surgical accreditation, or proof of competency

  • Participants remain solely responsible for how they apply any educational content, techniques, or skills in clinical practice

  • Ophthalmology 24 OOD does not guarantee any specific educational outcome, surgical skill level, certification result, employment opportunity, or professional advancement.

Participants agree to:

  • Follow all instructions provided by faculty, moderators, technicians, wetlab staff, and organizers

  • Use equipment responsibly and only as instructed

  • Comply with all safety, hygiene, infection control, and technical protocols

  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, equipment malfunctions, or incidents

  • Participate only within the limits of their own training, qualifications, and professional competence

During the event, Ophthalmology 24 OOD reserves the right to:

  • Restrict or deny participation in specific practical sessions

  • Remove participants from activities where safety concerns arise

  • Modify workshop formats, faculty, equipment, or schedules

  • Limit access to specific devices, stations, or sponsored educational activities.

Participants may be removed from a workshop or event without refund for:

  • Unsafe handling of equipment

  • Failure to follow instructions

  • Disruptive or inappropriate behavior

  • Intentional damage to equipment or facilities

  • Conduct that may endanger other participants or staff

10. Educational Content Disclaimer

All educational content provided during the event is intended for informational and educational purposes only.

Opinions expressed by speakers, mentors, faculty members, sponsors, or exhibitors are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Ophthalmology 24 OOD.

Participation in the event does not establish a physician-patient relationship, medical consultation, or professional advisory relationship.

Clinical decisions and patient care remain the sole responsibility of the treating healthcare professional.

11. Participant Code of Conduct

We are committed to maintaining a respectful, professional, safe and inclusive educational environment. Attendees must maintain respectful communication.

Participants agree to:

  • Behave professionally and respectfully toward other attendees, mentors, faculty, staff, sponsors and venue personnel

  • Comply with venue rules, safety instructions and applicable laws

  • Avoid harassment, intimidation, discrimination, disruptive conduct or inappropriate behavior

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment or discrimination

  • Unsafe or disruptive behavior

Violation will result in immediate removal without refund.

We reserve the right to deny access or remove any participant from the event without refund where behavior is considered unsafe, unlawful, disruptive, abusive, discriminatory or inconsistent with the educational nature of the event.

12. Photography, Video & Media Recording

During Ophthalmology24 Bootcamp and related educational events, photographs, audio recordings and video recordings may be captured for educational, documentation, promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.

By registering for and attending the event, participants acknowledge and agree that they may appear in photographs, video recordings, livestreams, or other media captured during the event.

Such content may be used by Ophthalmology 24 OOD for:

  • Educational materials

  • Marketing materials

  • Newsletters

  • Event promotion

  • Website and social media content

  • Post-event recap videos

  • Printed and digital publications

  • Sponsor and partner communications related to the event

This use is worldwide and non-exclusive. Participants will not receive compensation for the use of such recordings or images.

Participants with specific concerns regarding identifiable media use may contact the organizers before or during the event. While reasonable efforts may be made to accommodate such requests, complete exclusion from group photography or background footage cannot be guaranteed.

13. Sponsors & Industry Partners 

The event may include sponsors, exhibitors, educational partners, and medical industry companies.

Sponsors may participate through:

  • Exhibition booths

  • Sponsored workshops

  • Wetlabs

  • Drylabs 

  • Workshops

  • Educational sessions

  • Product demonstrations

  • Networking activities

Ophthalmology 24 OOD does not sell attendee personal data.

Participant information will only be shared with sponsors or partners where:

  • Explicit participant consent has been provided

  • The participant voluntarily engages with a sponsor

  • Sharing is necessary for participation in a specific sponsored activity

Sponsors and exhibitors who independently collect participant information are responsible for their own privacy practices.

14. Certificates & Educational Tracking

We may track workshop participation, attendance, educational activities, feedback submissions or assessment participation in order to:

  • Manage workshop capacity

  • Organize educational activities

  • Issue certificates of participation or completion

  • Improve educational quality

  • Support accreditation processes where applicable

Certificates may be withheld where participation requirements are not met.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, educational activities, competitions or assessments conducted during the event are intended for training purposes only and do not constitute formal professional certification.

15. Intellectual Property

All event materials, branding, logos, presentations, educational resources, videos, graphics and content connected to the Event, remain the intellectual property of Ophthalmology 24 OOD or their respective owners unless otherwise stated.

Participants may not:

  • Reproduce

  • Distribute

  • Record

  • Commercially exploit

  • or Republish

substantial portions of event content without prior written permission.

Limited personal educational use is permitted unless otherwise restricted.

16. Health, Safety,
and Participation Requirements

Attendees acknowledge that the Event involves practical surgical training activities and there is a risk of minor injury (e.g., sharps instruments).

 

Attendees must follow all safety instructions, use required protective equipment and handle all materials responsibly.

Failure to comply may result in removal without refund.

Participants acknowledge that certain sessions may be sponsored or supported by industry partners and may involve demonstration devices, prototype systems, or commercial educational technologies.

17. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ophthalmology 24 OOD and its faculty, sponsors, exhibitors, technicians, contractors and partners shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • Injuries arising from participant misuse of equipment

  • Participant negligence

  • Improper application of educational techniques

  • Equipment interruptions or malfunctions

  • Loss of personal property

  • Loss of income or professional opportunity

  • Indirect or consequential damages related to participation

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

The Organizer is liable only in cases of gross negligence.

Participation is at the Attendee’s own risk. The Organizer does not guarantee specific training outcomes or skill acquisition during the Event.

18. Insurance

Attendees are responsible for their own health insurance, travel insurance and professional liability insurance.

19. Force Majeure

In case of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, travel disruption, force majeure events, pandemic, natural disaster, war, government restrictions, technical failures, safety concerns, or insufficient participation, the Event may be:

  • Postponed and rescheduled

  • Modified

  • Relocated

  • or Cancelled

In case of cancellation, partial refunds may be issued after deduction of costs already incurred. The event will be rescheduled for a later date, extending ticket validity. 

No further claims may be made.

We are not responsible for participant travel costs, accommodation expenses, visa expenses, lost income, or other indirect costs associated with event changes or cancellation.

20. Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR)

Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By registering for the event, participants acknowledge that certain personal data may be processed for event administration, communication, educational activities, certificates, logistics, analytics, and legal compliance purposes.

Data is used for:

  • Event organization

  • Communication

  • Logistics

Attendees have the right to:

  • Access

  • Correction

  • Deletion of their data

Personal data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

21. Access to the Event

Access is limited to registered Attendees. Event badges must be worn at all times. The Organizer reserves the right to deny access in case of non-compliance.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Bulgarian law.

23. Final Provisions

If any provision is invalid, the remaining Terms remain in effect. The Organizer reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
