1. Scope and Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions govern participation in the Ophthalmology24 Bootcamp 2026 (“the Event”), organized by Ophthalmology 24 Ltd (“the Organizer”).

 

By registering for the Event, participants (“Attendees”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

2. Event Description

The Event is a hands-on ophthalmology training program focused exclusively on:

  • Wetlab training

  • Drylab training

  • Surgical simulation

Key conditions:

  • No lectures or theoretical sessions will be held

  • No live patients are involved

  • No clinical procedures or treatments are performed

  • No working with animal tissue (e.g., porcine eyes)

  • Training involves simulators, training microscopes, and artificial models

3. Registration and Participation

Registration must be completed via the official website:
www.ophthalmology24bootcamp.com

​Participation is confirmed only after:

  • Full payment is received, and

  • Written confirmation is issued.

The Organizer reserves the right to limit participant numbers and refuse registration where appropriate.

4. Fees and Payment

Addmittance fee for Attendees is 600 EUR. All fees are in EUR (€) and are subject to VAT. Full payment is required to secure participation. Access to the Event is granted only after full payment.

5. Cancellation and Ticket Transfer

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to:
info@ophthalmology24.com

Refund policy:

  • Up to 150 days before the Event → 50% refund

  • Less than 150 days before the Event → no refund

However:

  • Attendees may transfer their ticket to another eligible participant at no additional cost

  • The Organizer must be informed in advance of any transfer

6. No Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive:

  • The standard 14-day withdrawal right does not apply, as the Event is a leisure service linked to a specific date.

7. Program and Schedule Changes

The Organizer reserves the right to modify the program, schedule, or training sessions, or to change instructors, equipment, or lab structure. These changes do not entitle Attendees to a refund.

8. Health, Safety,
and Participation Requirements

Attendees acknowledge that the Event involves practical surgical training activities and there is a risk of minor injury (e.g., sharps, instruments).

 

Attendees must follow all safety instructions, use required protective equipment and handle all materials responsibly.

Failure to comply may result in removal without refund.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organizer is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • Loss of income or professional opportunity

The Organizer is liable only in cases of:

  • Intentional misconduct

  • Gross negligence

  • Participation is at the Attendee’s own risk

The Organizer does not guarantee specific training outcomes or skill acquisition during the Event.

10. Insurance

Attendees are responsible for their own health insurance, travel insurance and professional liability insurance.

11. Force Majeure

If the Event cannot take place due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control (e.g., pandemic, natural disaster, government restrictions), the Organizer may:

  • Reschedule the Event, or

  • Cancel the Event

In case of cancellation, partial refunds may be issued after deduction of costs already incurred. The event will be rescheduled for a later date, extending ticket validity. 

 

No further claims may be made.

12. Data Protection (GDPR)

Personal data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data is used for:

  • Event organization

  • Communication

  • Logistics

Attendees have the right to:

  • Access

  • Correction

  • Deletion of their data

13. Photo, Video Recording and Media Usage

The Event will be professionally recorded (photo and video). By attending the Event, Attendees acknowledge and agree that:

  • They may be photographed, filmed, or otherwise recorded

  • The recordings may include their image, voice, and participation.

These materials may be used by the Organizer for:

  • Aftermovies

  • Promotional videos

  • Social media content

  • Website and marketing materials

  • Educational and documentation purposes

This use is worldwide, non-exclusive, and without compensation.

If an Attendee does not wish to appear in recordings, they must:

  • Notify the Organizer in writing before the Event

The Organizer will make reasonable efforts but cannot guarantee full exclusion from all recordings in a public event setting.

14. Code of Conduct

Attendees must maintain professional behavior and respectful communication.

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment or discrimination

  • Unsafe or disruptive behavior

Violation will result in immediate removal without refund.

15. Access to the Event

Access is limited to registered Attendees. Event badges must be worn at all times. The Organizer reserves the right to deny access in case of non-compliance.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by German law.

17. Final Provisions

If any provision is invalid, the remaining Terms remain in effect. The Organizer reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
